Ministry Roads & Transport Announces Over 130 Job Vacancies

The Ministry of Roads and Transport Kenya, through the State Department for Roads, has announced over 130 jobs in a nationwide recruitment drive targeting skilled professionals.

The department is seeking to strengthen its workforce, and as a result, it has opened opportunities across engineering, technical, and instructional fields.

The announcement highlights the government’s continued push to enhance efficiency in the transport sector.

Jobs Across Key Sectors

To begin with, the majority of the advertised jobs fall under the promotional category, covering job groups CSG 8 to CSG 10.

These roles specifically target experienced professionals who can support infrastructure development and training.

The key positions include:

  • Senior Engineer (Materials) – 14 posts
  • Senior Lecturer (KIHBT) – 11 posts
  • Principal Instructor (KIHBT) – 15 posts
  • Superintending Geologist – 1 post
  • Chief Physicist – 7 posts
  • Principal Engineering Technicians (various fields)
  • Senior Engineering Technicians (Automotive and Plant)
  • Senior Charge Hands in:
  1. Plumbing
  2. Carpentry and Joinery
  3. Motor Vehicle Mechanics

These jobs will directly support road construction, maintenance and technical training, which remain critical to national development.

Openings for Entry-Level Applicants

Meanwhile, the department has also introduced entry-level jobs to attract new talent into public service.

These positions create opportunities for individuals with technical skills to begin their careers.

The available roles include:

  • Driver Instructor III – 7 posts
  • Plant Operator Instructor III – 8 posts

Both roles fall under job group CSG 13 and focus on training and operational support.

 Application Process and Deadline

Next, interested candidates must submit their applications online through the Public Service Commission Kenya portal.

Applicants should submit their applications via the official PSC jobs portal before the deadline, which is set for June 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM (EAT).

The commission will contact only shortlisted candidates, and those who proceed to the interview stage must present their original academic and professional certificates.

Applicants should apply early to avoid last-minute challenges and ensure they meet all requirements

Ultimately, this recruitment drive aims to boost Kenya’s infrastructure sector.
