The University of Nairobi (UoN) has strengthened its position as one of Africa’s leading institutions after securing a place among the top 7% of universities worldwide in the 2026 Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR). Out of 21,291 universities evaluated across the globe, UoN ranked 1,425th, placing it within the top 6.7% of universities worldwide.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested a man following the gruesome murder of a University student. Nicholas Mutia, a 34-year-old man, has been linked with the murder after investigations by detectives. Jane Atilia Quedeya, a student of the University of Nairobi (UoN), Kikuyu Campus, was murdered and his body dumped in the forest.
