Anton Okoth Ochieng Miuga, popularly known by his stage name Tony Ndiema, was a Kenyan Ohangla musician celebrated for blending traditional Luo rhythms with modern Rhumba influences.
He was born on December 12, 1989, in Nairobi, and died on June 30, 2026, while undergoing treatment at Oasis Hospital in Kisii.
Tony Ndiema was born and raised in Nairobi’s Kariobangi estate in a Christian family.
He was brought up by his parents, the Miuga family, and attended school up to Form Four. Financial challenges prevented him from pursuing further education.
His musical journey began after fellow musician Wuod Okinyo recognized his talent and introduced him to the recording studio.
He recorded his debut song, “Ajema Nyar Asembo Republic,” marking the beginning of his career.
Tony Ndiema Music Career
Tony Ndiema quickly emerged as one of the promising young voices in the Ohangla scene.
He built a reputation for his smooth, captivating vocals and energetic performances, attracting a growing fan base across Kenya and beyond.
He led the BBR Band, where he championed Ohangla-Rhumba fusion, combining traditional Ohangla drums, Luo-language lyrics and melodies with modern Rhumba sounds.

Death
Tony Ndiema died on June 30, 2026, while undergoing treatment at Oasis Hospital in Kisii after his health deteriorated.
His family had earlier appealed for prayers and financial support to help meet his medical expenses.
The cause of his death has not been officially disclosed.
