A video circulating online shows Nairobi youth leader Goon Z Swaleh Sonko and his group warning political leaders against using young people in political activities, then allegedly opening fire on them.
The clip emerged after police confirmed the recovery of two firearms from bodyguards attached to Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs following the death of youth mobiliser Cecil Ouma, 28.
“Vijana saidia kijana mwenzake. Imaneno iwafikie, Imaneno ya weshimiwa kupanga vijana. Hii maneno itakoma. Mkome Kuua Vijana wa ODM.” The group stated.
The group accuses leaders of exploitation, saying: “Imaneno ya weshimiwa kupanga vijana, alafu mnaanza kutoroka na magari. Vijana wakidandia magari zenyu, mnafungua risasi.”
The youths also alleged that ODM youths who had been killed should be brought back to life and said abductions should end.

Details of the Incident Involving Cecil Ouma and Statements Recorded by Police
The video comes shortly after Nairobi North Regional Sub-County seized two guns from bodyguards attached to PS Jacobs on Wednesday, 1st July 2026.
The seizure followed reports that Cecil Ouma, 28, died on Tuesday evening after a youth empowerment programme at Kariokor attended by the PS.
The report says it is alleged that Ouma was shot by an aide attached to the PS, pushed from the PS’s vehicle with gunshot wounds, and later pronounced dead at Park Road Nursing Home.
Witness Lawrence Agolla told investigators Ouma was given Ksh 10,000 after the event but asked to return it.
Agolla alleged that a confrontation occurred inside the moving vehicle before Ouma fell out bleeding.
A senior detective said seven people, including two bodyguards and a Ministry of Youth Affairs director, have recorded statements.

Police have not confirmed any charges or named suspects.
The cause of death and circumstances remain under investigation by police and the Independent Policing Oversight Authority IPOA.
Goon Z Swaleh’s group identified with the opposition and demands an end to violence, saying their ten-point agenda is meant to protect youths from abduction and from being killed arbitrarily.
