Kenyans React as Kindiki Shares Photos With Ruto to Show They Are Still on Good Terms

President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki have held a meeting at State House in Nairobi amid growing speculation about a possible rift between the two leaders.

Kenyans have reacted after Deputy President Kithure Kindiki shared photos of himself with President William Ruto during a late-night meeting at State House, Nairobi.

There are claims that Kindiki is being undermined after the ruling party UDA lost the Ol Kalou by-election.

Some reports even indicated that Kindiki’s official responsibilities have been reduced, specifically through the transfer of intergovernmental coordination and devolution duties to Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

This comes as the ODM Party is pushing for the deputy president slot, with Cooperative CS Wycliffe Oparanya and Mining CS Ali Hassan Joho fronted as the main candidates.

However, Kindiki dismissed these reports as fake.

“Fake news,” Kindiki tweeted on July 27, 2026.

Another cryptic tweet followed on July 28 at 5:51 pm, addressing the allegations that he has fallen out with President Ruto.

“Nothing has changed,” Kindiki said.

Kindiki Shares Photos of State House Meeting

In the photos, which are part of the cryptic messages, Kindiki is seen talking to President Ruto at night at State House in Nairobi.

The photos have no caption, and there are no details about when they were taken or what the two discussed.

Besides, the photos were not posted on President Ruto’s social media pages.

Kenyans Reactions to the Photos

The photos have sparked mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans viewing the post as an attempt to demonstrate that their working relationship remains intact.
