Fresh Details Emerge in Elvis Opiyo Death as Video Shows Moments After He Was Found

A video showing moments Elvis Opiyo was found has emerged, less than 24 hours after his reported death on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

In the video, a man appears to be carried away from the house on a bed sheet as police surround the area. No bloodstains appear visible around the area where the deceased was reportedly found.

Reports indicate that Elvis Opiyo was found lying on the floor after his wife discovered him unresponsive inside their Umoja Two home. Next to him, police reportedly found a white substance suspected to be poison, while more of it lay wrapped in clear nylon paper on the table.

Elvis Opiyo faced acid attack allegations

Earlier this year, Elvis Opiyo gained attention as the alleged mastermind behind the acid attack on Mary Claire.

Elvis and Claire allegedly had an affair, and when Claire wanted to end the relationship, he is accused of sending someone to attack her.

According to a boda boda rider, the attacker allegedly poured concentrated sulphuric acid on Claire near Prestige Plaza along Ngong Road. Elvis apparently visited Claire on her sickbed before police arrested him five days later. He was first arraigned at Kibera Law Courts, where the case attracted widespread attention and intense conversations across social media.

During that period, people expressed different views concerning the incident, with some defending Claire and others questioning the circumstances.

Some argued that Elvis had no right over Claire because he was married, while others believed Claire also carried some blame. Meanwhile, others maintained that there was more to the story than what had emerged publicly.

During the tension, Lighthouse ministers terminated Elvis Opiyo’s membership following his arrest and the allegations against him. The decision sparked controversy and debate within the Seventh-day Adventist community, where both Elvis and Claire fellowship.

After his arrest, authorities released Elvis on a Ksh1 million bond as the legal proceedings continued.

Wife reports death as depression concerns emerge

Throughout this period, Elvis Opiyo’s wife had not made any public appearance regarding the acid attack or allegations surrounding her husband.

However, she recently reported his death to police after finding him unresponsive inside their Umoja Two home. According to reports, she said Elvis had been battling severe depression before his sudden death.

Police have not yet established the official cause of death, as the postmortem examination remains pending. Authorities transferred the body to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital Mortuary in Embakasi West, where it awaits the postmortem procedure.

The examination should help establish the actual cause and circumstances surrounding Elvis Opiyo’s death. Meanwhile, news of his sudden death has spread quickly throughout the Seventh-day Adventist community. Many people have continued sending condolences and sharing tributes following his reported death.

At the same time, Mary Claire’s plastic surgery fundraiser continues, with organizers expecting the procedure to cost approximately Ksh5 million.
