Traffic Remains Normal Across Nairobi Despite Isolated Tension on Thika Road

Traffic in Nairobi and surrounding regions remained normal on Monday morning despite isolated reports of tension and minor disruptions along parts of the Thika Road.
According to a Monday Security and Traffic Advisory, no major security incidents had been reported across Nairobi, with smooth movement recorded along key highways and roads, including Ngong Road, Lang’ata Road, Mombasa Road, Southern Bypass, Lower Kabete, and Thika Road up to Juja.
“Good morning. Most parts of Nairobi and surrounding regions are currently experiencing normal movement, with no major security incidents reported as of this morning,” read part of the advisory.
Authorities also noted that school transport and public service vehicles were operating normally in several areas, although traffic volumes remained slightly reduced in some locations.
Minor Disruptions Reported Along Thika Road
However, tensions were reported in sections of the Thika Road corridor and nearby access roads.
According to the advisory, temporary road obstructions were reported in some areas, including isolated incidents involving suspected goons in the Witeithie area, where suspected goons allegedly stoned a lorry.

Motorists along the Kinungi section of the highway also reported rocks placed across the road, although traffic continued to flow normally.
Meanwhile, authorities maintained that the situation remained calm and under observation, with no widespread unrest confirmed.

Traffic Advisory to Motorists and Commuters
Motorists were urged to remain alert, especially around isolated sections where road obstructions had been reported.
Commuters were also advised to avoid unnecessary confrontations with groups blocking roads and to use alternative routes where possible.
