Kenya Re Announces Job Vacancies, Including Permanent and Pensionable Positions

Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited (Kenya Re) has announced 12 job vacancies across its headquarters in Nairobi and subsidiaries in Tanzania, Zambia, and West Africa.

In a notice dated Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the government-owned reinsurer, which is listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), stated that is seeking qualified candidates to fill various positions.

“Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited (Kenya Re) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions at its Head Office in Nairobi, Kenya and subsidiaries,” read part of the notice.

According to the vacancy notice, some of the positions will be offered on permanent and pensionable terms, while others will be on fixed-term contracts ranging from three to five years.

Senior Project Officer Requirements

Among the advertised positions is that of Senior Project Officer, whose holder will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering the corporation’s capital and infrastructure projects.

Applicants for the role must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized institution. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

Candidates are also required to have professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 Practitioner. Certification in Change Management will be an added advantage.

In addition, applicants should have at least three years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or real estate projects. Experience in quality assurance and contract management will also be an advantage.

CEO Position in Tanzania

Kenya Re is also recruiting a Country Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer for its Tanzania subsidiary.

The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in fields such as Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business Administration, Strategic Management, or related disciplines.

Applicants are also required to possess professional qualifications, including Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) certification, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualifications.

The position requires at least 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years of service in senior management within the insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or related sectors.

Kenya Re stated that candidates with experience managing multi-country operations within the East African Community region and a proven track record in business growth and profitability will have an added advantage.
