Armed Robbers Raid Saika Salon in Broad Daylight as CCTV Captures Terrifying Attack

Armed robbers stormed Saika salon, Kayole, on Sunday, July 26, during a women’s chama meeting, leaving members terrified after losing cash and valuables.

CCTV footage from Sheek’s Palace Salon captured the moment two men entered the premises and confronted the women who were inside.

The footage shows one of the suspects entering the salon and saying, “Habari zenu?”

The women responded, “Mzuri,” seemingly unaware of what was about to happen.

Moments later, another suspect is heard ordering them, “Nyamaza, kaa chini,” as the men pointed what appeared to be a pistol.

The robbers then moved around the salon, collecting phones and other valuables from the victims.

The attack sparked panic, with screams and commotion heard as some of the women tried to escape from the premises.

The suspects later fled from the salon after taking Ksh50,000 in chama contributions and a Samsung Galaxy A17 mobile phone.

CCTV footage captured the two men running away from the scene.

Public Calls for Faster Action

The robbery has renewed concerns about security in Nairobi, with members of the public calling on security agencies to act quickly and arrest the suspects.

One X user, Kingpin, expressed concern over the incident, saying, “Heartbroken. Armed robbers struck in Saika today, held people at gunpoint and stole phones + cash. Innocent people left shaken and empty-handed.”

The user also tagged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the National Police Service, calling for a faster response.

“These cases keep happening and justice feels too slow. Our safety matters,” the user added.

Saika Salon Robbery Comes After Spring Valley Attack

The incident comes days after a separate armed robbery at Chaiiwali Restaurant in Spring Valley, Westlands.

The July 4 robbery involved four suspects who arrived on two motorcycles and stormed the restaurant along General Mathenge Road.

According to the DCI, the suspects robbed customers of their valuables before firing two rounds into the air and fleeing towards Parklands.

Investigators recovered a spent 9mm cartridge from the scene.

Days after the robbery, one of the suspected gunmen was shot dead by DCI officers, while the remaining suspects were arrested.
