CCTV footage has captured the final moments before a 25-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend along Kirichwa Road in Kilimani, Nairobi, on Thursday evening, May 14, 2026.
The footage, which has since emerged online, showed the woman desperately trying to escape from the attacker moments before she collapsed and died from multiple stab wounds.
According to investigators, the woman and the 22-year-old suspect, identified as Newton, had just left work and were walking home together at around 6 pm when the incident happened.
CCTV footage from the area showed the two walking along Kirichwa Road before the suspect suddenly turned violent and began attacking the woman in public.

The victim attempted to flee and ran into a nearby pharmacy seeking safety as members of the public watched in shock. However, the suspect followed her into the premises and continued stabbing her several times.
Within minutes, blood was seen inside the pharmacy and outside the building as the woman fought for her life.
After the attack, the suspect fled from the pharmacy while the victim managed to stagger outside before collapsing. She later succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Witnesses claimed that after noticing an angry crowd gathering, the suspect allegedly lay on top of the victim and pretended to be injured in an attempt to stop members of the public from attacking him.
Police officers later arrived at the scene and rescued the suspect from the crowd before taking him to the hospital.
However, officers reportedly established that the suspect had no injuries and that the blood on his clothes belonged to the deceased woman.
Authorities said members of the public helped restrain the suspect before police arrived.

The suspect is currently being held at Kilimani Police Station as detectives continue with investigations ahead of his arraignment in court.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect and the deceased had previously been in a romantic relationship and were working at the same place.
Sources familiar with the matter told investigators that the woman had earlier resigned from her job due to alleged harassment by the suspect before later returning to work.
Police believe the attack may have been linked to ongoing disagreements following the couple’s separation.
Investigators also revealed that the suspect had allegedly carried a knife to work earlier that day, raising suspicion that the attack may have been premeditated.
The body of the deceased was moved to the City Mortuary in Nairobi as investigations continue into the motive behind the killing.
