Kisii University, Kabianga Announce New Scholarships and Jobs : How to Apply

Kisii University and the University of Kabianga have announced new opportunities for Kenyans seeking postgraduate scholarships and employment.

A new round of nine master’s scholarships under the African Development Fund (ADF)-supported Higher Education Science and Technology (HEST) Phase II project has been announced, while the University of Kabianga has advertised several vacancies across its departments.

Kisii University is inviting applications for master’s scholarships in four Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) areas.

The scholarships are being offered under the Higher Education Science and Technology (HEST) Phase II project, which seeks to improve access to quality higher education, training and research in STEM fields.

The available programmes are:

  • Information Technology (IT) – 2 scholarships
  • Nursing – 3 scholarships
  • Medicine – 2 scholarships
  • Biomedical Sciences – 3 scholarships

The university said the scholarship package will cover tuition fees and research costs for the duration of the study.

The programme is open to Kenyan citizens aged below 30 years. Successful beneficiaries will also serve as Graduate Assistants.

“Applicants must have obtained a minimum of Second Class Honors (Upper Division) in a relevant degree from a recognized and accredited University,” the university stated.

Kisii University Scholarship Beneficiaries to Pursue PhDs

Kisii University said successful candidates will be expected to pursue PhD studies after completing their master’s programmes under the scholarship.

The beneficiaries will also be bonded under the university’s applicable terms and conditions and must complete their studies within the prescribed period.

The universities will offer the programmes at different institutions.

Kisii University will offer Information Technology and Biomedical Sciences, while Chuka University will offer Nursing and Moi University will offer Medicine.

Applicants must also register with, or qualify for registration with, relevant professional or regulatory bodies where applicable.

The university encouraged persons with disabilities to apply.

Applicants must submit their scholarship applications to the Vice Chancellor, Kisii University, by August 25, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

University of Kabianga Advertises Jobs

At the same time, the University of Kabianga has invited applications for several positions across its departments.

The university said applicants should submit an application together with an updated curriculum vitae showing their age, marital status, academic and professional qualifications, work experience, present and postal address, telephone contact, email address, and names and addresses of referees.

Applicants are also required to provide copies of their certificates and testimonials.

  • Assistant Public Relations Officer – 1 position
  • Chief Internal Auditor – 1 position
  • Internal Auditor – 1 position
  • Senior Security Officer – 1 position
  • Registrar, Research, Planning and Development – 1 position
  • Senior Quantity Surveyor – 1 position
  • Deputy Finance Officer – 1 position
  • Accountant I – 2 positions
  • Maintenance Officer (Buildings) – 1 position
  • Assistant Farm Manager – 1 position
  • Lecturer in History of Education – 1 position
  • Lecturer – 1 position
  • Lecturer in Educational Administration, Policy and Management – 2 positions

The university said applications should be submitted both physically and electronically.

Applicants are required to submit a scanned copy of their applications in PDF format, with all documents merged into one continuous file, to recruitment@kabianga.ac.ke.

The applications must reach the university by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2026.

Where to Submit Applications

Applications for the University of Kabianga positions should be addressed to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration & Finance), University of Kabianga, P.O. Box 2030-20200, Kericho.

The university also advised applicants to contact their referees and ask them to send recommendation letters to the same address.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and applicants have been asked to attach all relevant supporting documents.
